Cambodia Fired First
Cambodia Fired First—A Tragic Attack on Thai Soil
On July 24, 2025, at exactly 12:05 PM, the Kingdom of Cambodia launched a heavy artillery strike into Thailand using BM-21 rockets.
The attack was not only aggressive but also deeply shocking. Video footage capturing this moment has already been saved and circulated by Thai citizens, leaving undeniable evidence of this brutal act.
What makes this incident even more heartbreaking is that innocent Thai civilians, including students, lost their lives. As a Thai citizen and a schoolteacher, I write this not only as a witness to the pain but as a voice for justice. I am deeply saddened, angered, and shaken by this violent assault.
This article is not meant to spread hatred but to reveal the truth to the world. It is vital that the international community sees and understands what has taken place. Cambodia’s act was not one of defense—it was an unprovoked strike, and it cost innocent lives.
Thailand has always stood for peace. But peace should never come at the price of silence, especially when the lives of our children are taken.
Cambodia Fired First—Innocent Lives Lost, Pain Beyond Repair
The victims were innocent.
They were children, students, and parents—family members whose loved ones were waiting for them to return home. But they never did.
This tragedy has caused irreparable emotional damage. The pain felt by the Thai people is deep and unforgettable.
Here is a summary of the confirmed casualties and damage from Cambodia’s unprovoked attack on Thai soil:
- Kantharalak District, Sisaket Province
– 6 civilians killed
– 10 injured
– (7 of them were inside a PTT gas station convenience store) - Kap Choeng District, Surin Province
– 2 civilians killed (including an 8-year-old boy)
– 2 seriously injured
3. Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province
– 1 civilian killed
– 1 injured
4. Ban Kruat District, Buriram Province
– 1 civilian seriously injured
5. Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province
– No injuries or deaths
– But public property was damaged, including parts of Phanom Dong Rak Hospital, a clear violation of humanitarian boundaries
These attacks show no regard for human life.
This was not an accident.
It was deliberate.
It was unforgivable.
Thailand Loves Peace — But We Are Not Weak
Thailand has always stood for peace.
But if forced into battle, we do not back down.
We will never allow our sovereignty to be trampled upon.
It was they who fired first — despite Thailand’s constant efforts to maintain peace and de-escalate tension.
Even when border checkpoints were temporarily closed due to rising conflicts, Thailand still showed humanity.
We allowed Cambodian tourists to visit Ta Muen Thom Temple, even as they provocatively took selfies claiming the land as their own.
And what did Thai soldiers do? They smiled, and joined the photos — with patience, with kindness.
Thai people are kind.
Thai soldiers are kind.
Even with border closures, we allowed Cambodian students to cross into Thailand to attend school.
When Cambodian villagers fell ill, it was Thai soldiers who rushed them to Thai hospitals for urgent care.
When Cambodian villagers had no food, Thai border patrol officers shared what little we had.
We tried to keep the peace.
But when bullets come first, consequences must follow.
We grieve only for the innocent lives—for the civilians, the children—on both sides, who suffer because of decisions made far from them.
I hope this article helps the world see the truth:
Thailand has always acted with restraint, dignity, and compassion.
And may every Thai soldier protecting our people and our land return home safely.
Cambodia Fired First—Again. Thailand Responds to Aggression.
On July 25, 2025, at 4:00 AM, Cambodia launched another round of attacks against Thailand.
Heavy fire rained down across the border. Once again, Cambodia chose violence.
Thailand had no choice but to respond—to protect its land, its sovereignty, and its people.
This was not the first act of aggression.
But it was a clear escalation.
And Thailand will not remain silent when lives are at stake.
We fight not because we want war,
But because we must defend our nation.
